Hunting "Teiser Geods"
- We proceed through the woods and come to the Mesner Boden (Trail No.1). We continue over dry meadows and quartz porphyry tuff (the kind of mineral beds in which Teiser Geods occur) and come to the "Lahne" above the Gostner Graben. There's a site here where we can dig for samples and break open rocks.
- We continue along the trail of the Teiser Geods and return to the village. After a brief visit at the Sacred Heart Church, we stop by at an inn in the village where we can order a hearty lunch and relax while we review all of the exciting events of the afternoon.
Special features en route: Historical background, legends, geology, and minerals - Meeting-place is at 9:00 a.m. at the Mineralogical Museum of Teis/Tiso
- Hikes starts: approx. 10:30 a.m.
- Duration: approx. 1 1/4 hour (altitude differential: 135 m), Return at about midday
- No. of participants: min. 5 - max. 20 persons
- Ages: 5 - 85 years of age
- Requirements: Easy hike – will be conducted regardless of weather conditions; participation at own risk
- Please bring the following things with you: sturdy boots, sun-protection, rain-protection, open eyes and ears (picks and hammers are available at the museum).
- Cost for admission to the museum and guided tour: €8.oo per person; children age 5 to 14: €4.oo (snack not included in price)
